Banaue Rice Terraces… WOW!!!!!

The Banaue Rice Terraces in the Philippines was famous enough as it is… but it got even more popular when it was included in a blockbuster American movie.

I got to visit this place in 2019. Banaue is accessible by land travel. Our family paid for a private tour which enabled us to have exclusive use of the van (with driver & tour guide) and unrestricted time in visiting Banaue and Sagada. This is the way to go when travelling with a senior citizen and with people who are into photography. If you are in a tour group, normally, time to explore the places visited are restricted since there are a lot of places to cover during the tour. You also cannot just stop the vehicle when you want a toilet break! 😂

If you want to visit this place, it is best to travel at dawn then wait for the sun to rise over the rice terraces. This would’ve been a spectacular sight but we missed it since we came late :( After taking in the view and taking photos around the area, you can enjoy breakfast in nearby eateries or restaurants. Normally, places there who offer a spot to view or take photos of the rice terraces include outdoor dining.
