Impressive bridge to see

The Rama VIII Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge in Bangkok, Thailand, that spans the Chao Phraya River. It was designed to relieve traffic congestion on the Phra Pinklao Bridge, which is nearby. From 1999 to 2002, the bridge was under construction.
This renowned single tower, cable-supported bridge served as our guide in Bangkok during our stay. It was close to our hotel, so we knew we were almost home when it came into view while we were out and about. From our hotel room, it was also visible. We drove over it on tours as we entered and exited the city, and we also cruised beneath it on a Chao Phraya River cruise.
The gold/orange metal structure on top of the tower took on the appearance of a flame at night.
Although not a true destination, it is a prominent element of Bangkok's skyline.
