Great stop when you arrive despite the approach, certainly on the Chang Mai line that comes through the old capital Ayutthaya is very junk and lined with garbage when you come to the city. The station itself is very twisted and more reminiscent of a British station built in the past. Amazingly, they have some amazing old steam engines that sit inside the station that are freely accessible and a must for any train enthusiast but in general it is not something you see every day that is very nice to stop and admire. Access to the subway and the city of China is very easy and ground transportation via tuk-tuk or a taxi is easy to reach

It’s easy to book a ticket even when you speak English! A comfortable place to wait inside or outside. Huge ceilings and a beautiful old design for those who are fans of railway stations and twirked places. I will definitely try this place again to travel within Thailand. I would admit that regular trains are a bit hot and dirty but that adds to the experience. A lot of people sell food on board including drinks. Try at your own risk. Although there is no serious danger with many train police and the people around them who are friendly and respectful.
