🏕 Wat Machantikaram (Wat Noi) is assumed to have been built in the late Ayutthaya period. It is a place for practicing Vipassana meditation for wandering monks who pass by. There are some monks staying there and some are not.
🏠 In 1874, Chao Chom Manda Thiang, during the reign of King Rama IV, was the patron of the construction of various religious objects. King Rama V gave the name Machantikaram (Machantika means noon and Aram means temple).
Important and interesting things in the temple are as follows:
🏡 Ubosot, a brick and mortar building. The gable has a trident on a tray, which is a symbol of the Chakri dynasty. Under the crown, it is flanked by 5-tiered umbrellas with a radiant halo around it, indicating that it is a temple for the people that has been supported and maintained by the royal family. There is a principal Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, which is a Buddha image from the early Rattanakosin period.
🏡 Sala Karn Parian There is Phra Phuttha Si Sampothi in the Samadhi posture as the principal Buddha image, built in 2553. 🛕 Bell-shaped pagoda, built at the same time as the ordination hall. ♨️ Wat Matchantikaram: 102 Soi Wong Sawang 11, Wong Sawang Road, Wong Sawang Subdistrict, Bang Sue District, Bangkok. 🎯 Coordinates: https://maps.app.goo.gl/5DTELgjreZzHiQkm6
