Explore art that reflects the questions of time 🕰️

#InsomniaInExhibition

"One Day and One Night" explores art that reflects the question of time by artist Angkrit Atchariyasopon.

Time is precious because it is limited, but does everyone really have the same amount of time? This is the question the exhibition "One Day and One Night" poses for viewers to ponder. Through abstract paintings that reflect the flow of life and nature,

The artist invites us to experience new ways of perceiving "time." It's not just a number on a clock, but a phenomenon determined by the changes in the world and ourselves.

The artist questions Buddhist perspectives and Albert Einstein's theory of relativity, arguing that "time" is not equal. Sometimes, moments of happiness may pass quickly, while moments of suffering seem endless. The artist draws inspiration from nature and the environment around him, expressing his paintings that reflect the rhythm of day and night, the changing seasons, and the impact of humans on nature.

The works in this exhibition are abstract landscape paintings that do not emphasize realism, but rather reflect the "present moment" the artist perceives. The layers of color and texture in his work resemble the overlapping moments in human consciousness. Each painting appears to have a repetitive pattern, but upon closer inspection, subtle variations are revealed, akin to the activities of billions of humans circling under the same sky.

The words of Venerable Akkaradej (Tan) Thirajitto, "Monks, we rely on the four requisites only for one day and one night," form the heart of this exhibition, inviting us to appreciate the value of time passing each day.

This exhibition not only showcases the beauty of the paintings, but also provides a space for us to explore how we spend our time each day. We can absorb emotions and interpret the artworks from our own experiences. This exhibition may therefore be an opportunity for us to pause. And immerse yourself in a truly precious day and night.
