Check-in at Songwad Cafe One Day Trip

One Day Trip Songwad Cafe
I have to say first that Songwad Road used to be a commercial area since the early Rattanakosin era, but it gradually became quiet over time. However, if you walk along Songwad now, you will notice the changes because many shops and cafes have opened, turning it into a popular spot for tourists. This street has become one of the first check-in points people think of!🤩

Today, I traveled by taxi and got off at the beginning of Songwad Road on the Charoen Krung side. But if you prefer to take the train, you can take the MRT🚇 to Wat Mangkon Station, Exit 1, then walk about 600 meters to reach Songwad Road. Don’t worry about getting bored along the way because there are shops all along the walkway❗️

When you arrive at Songwad Road, you will see a painting of a woman and an elephant on the building opposite—this is the first check-in point. Along the way, there are street arts on various building walls. I promise you’ll take lots of photos back home! 📸

📍 REUNROM (Ruenrom)
Walking further, we come across the shop “Ruenrom,” which has two floors. The ground floor sells various perfumes, and upstairs is a minimalistic style cafe with cute corners perfect for photo check-ins. I must say this place also sells seasonal ice cream, perfect for those with a sweet tooth.

📍 Pieces Cafe & Bed
A small dessert shop with a menu item called “Kanom Pang Hua Nommm,” which looks like a tiny burger. The bread is Shokupan, filled with coconut sorbet ice cream✨. If you try it once, you’ll definitely love it. This bread is usually sold in pairs for 100 baht per pair (a little secret: if you order it with a drink, you get a discount too🥰).

📍 Road Of Cinnamon
After dessert, let’s shop for some crafts. This shop sells carefully made craft items, including small and large pieces, jewelry, woven works, and pottery. Anyone who stops by this shop will surely take home some souvenirs❤️✨.

📍 Som Tum Gai Black 777
Next, let’s have lunch! This place sells delicious and spicy som tum (papaya salad). The must-try dish is their signature “Grilled Pork Neck Drama,” which has a sweet and savory flavor, and the meat is very juicy. If you come to Songwad Road and don’t stop here, you’re really missing out!!🔥

📍 Gu Long Bao
This is a famous steamed bun shop that I highly recommend! The buns have a history of over 100 years and come with various fillings like minced pork, red pork, salted egg yolk, both savory and sweet—all in one place. The atmosphere is simple, prices are affordable, perfect for those who love home-style delicious food. If you’re around here, give it a try!

📍 Noodle Meat Brewery
After som tum, let’s continue with noodles. This shop is truly number one on Songwad Road. If you come here, this is definitely a place worth trying. The stewed beef in their noodles is tender, fresh, and the pieces are large. They don’t hold back on the meat. Beef lovers should not miss this🥰 (The food is delicious but a bit pricey. I recommend coming before noon to avoid long waits as it gets crowded).

After eating, let’s check in at the new alley on Songwad Road! There are new shops in the new alley such as:

📍 Matchamaru
A shop selling authentic Japanese matcha that is both fragrant and delicious, with a minimal Japanese-style shop and a chill atmosphere, perfect for relaxing🍵✨.

📍 WABI’S 🍞
A bakery selling various breads including Shiopan, a trending salted bread. The bread is crispy outside, soft inside, and buttery. If you want extra dips, they have 17 homemade flavors!

📍 Oyster🐚
A vintage-style home decor shop selling utensils, bowls, and various items. The shop is decorated using the original building structure, giving it an old but stylish vibe, warm like the 80s. At the end of the alley, you’ll find a made-to-order restaurant next to the Chao Phraya River. The river is beautiful, the atmosphere is great, making it another must-visit check-in spot!

Besides the check-in spots near the Chao Phraya River, Songwad Road also has street art🎨 on house walls and buildings for photo check-ins. Art lovers will definitely be impressed!! Besides street art, there are also the “I Wanna Bangkok” sign and the “Songwad” street sign, which everyone can’t resist taking photos of to post on social media⭐️.
Other notable check-in places include:
📍 Kocha Isahak Grand Mosque
📍 Lao Pun Tao Kong Shrine
📍 Indian Building
📍 Phe Ying School

After visiting all the check-in spots, at the end of Songwad Road, on the left, you’ll find “Ratchawong Pier,” and on the right, you can continue shopping at Sampeng and Yaowarat!!🥰

If you have a day off and want to find a chill place to visit with great check-in spots and delicious food to take home, I recommend going to Songwad Road. I guarantee you’ll be impressed and won’t forget the experience…✨
