Yeon Jung Korean Chinese Cuisine is another Korean restaurant in Korean Town (Sukhumvit 12) that just celebrated its 1-year anniversary a few days ago. What makes it special is that it offers Korean Chinese Cuisine, which is another dimension of Korean food that many people may not be familiar with.
The highlight of Yeon Jung is presenting Korean dishes influenced by Chinese cuisine, with flavors that are rich, harmonious, and infused with Chinese spices, while still perfectly maintaining authentic Korean identity. Importantly, most dishes come in very large portions, not only large plates but also generous amounts, making it ideal for groups to share and enjoy many different dishes together.
Personally, I like the Tangsuyuk: Korean Chinese-style sweet and sour pork. The pork is fried crispy on the outside and tender inside. The sauce is served separately, keeping the pork crispy, and the sauce has a slight lemon aroma. Some people like to pour it over, but I prefer to dip the pork myself. I also ask the staff to season the sauce, which makes it salty and delicious, perfect for dipping with fried chicken.
Most importantly, the staff here provide excellent service (even though some may not speak Thai), they take care of you without needing to be called, and the restaurant often gives complimentary items. So cute and very impressive. I can say one visit is never enough.
