Chose to go on the first day of the event. That year’s theme was Time Passage – the path of time, which took us through the past, present, and future of the Phra Nakhon–Pak Khlong Talat area.
🔆 First feeling upon stepping in
Walking from Yodpiman River Walk, the flashlight on the canal tells the story of the river neighborhood. Saw an installation called “The Flower’s Journey” scattering light mixed with sound in sync with the boat’s rhythm. It made me feel like I was walking through time before the clean light passed over the old buildings in the heart of the city.
🗺 29 pieces in 13 locations that the organizer said can be completed within 2–3 hours
Route:
• Start at Yodpiman -> River Walk
• Along Sanam Chai – pass Museum Siam – enter Saranyam Park
• Continue to Fueang Nakhon – Phraeng Phuthon – Bamrung Muang – end at Lan Khon Muang
But at some points, I chose to sit on a chair and sip coffee during breaks — there were pop-up bars like Im En Ville, Motu, Tai Soon, and Phu Thon along the way.
🌠 Highlights
1. Digital light tunnel under the tree by the canal – light and sound synced very well
2. Projection mapping of Unikko pattern on Museum Siam – felt like being teleported to an art world outside Japan
3. Interactive light bulbs at the queue on the Sao Chingcha side – walking past, the lights changed with movement. It was really fun.
4. The stage of time shifts at Yodpiman second floor – got to listen to Seriousbaconband live that day. The music was warm under the river sky.
😌 Feeling while walking through the old neighborhood
Each light point wasn’t flashy or over the top, but small lights at café doors, old streets, and buildings reflected the past – the simple but warm scent of Bangkok. Many people walked around but it wasn’t crowded. There were service points at all price ranges (free tuk-tuk rides) to support tired walkers well.
🕰 Tips
• Go on a weekday night to reduce crowding (but I went on Saturday and it wasn’t as crowded as Lumphini Park)
• Best time: start 7:00–8:30 PM to catch the evening light and the clearest art light
• Check all spots: download the map QR from the website. There are actually 29 spots; I covered about 25.
• Bring water and comfortable shoes because you really walk. Review to enjoy it fully.
• Stop to try street food: should rest at some point. The atmosphere paired with the lights is wonderful.

🎙 Summary
“Walking through lights and time, hearing music by the water, old building walls, and glowing in the dark that calms the heart unexpectedly. Bangkok never stops, but tonight it truly takes a rest.”
This event is free but gives a ‘valuable’ feeling of the heart stopping to be with the old and new of the city that never sleeps.
