- During the Thonburi period, King Taksin ordered the restoration and established it as a royal temple. Later, in the reign of King Rama I, His Royal Highness Prince Anurak Devesh rebuilt the temple entirely, including the ubosot (ordination hall), cloisters, viharn (assembly hall), outer walls, pavilions, bell tower, scripture hall, prayer hall, sermon hall, monks' quarters, and roads within the temple grounds. King Rama I renamed it "Wat Amarinthararam" after Queen Amarindra, paired with Wat Bang Wa Yai, which was renamed Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan. During World War II, the temple was bombed, but the ubosot was not destroyed.
