Solo travel review: Taking the Chao Phraya Express Boat

Price: 150฿ (You can choose to buy an unlimited hop-on-hop-off pass, but we recommend buying only what you actually use for better value)

The trip started by taking the BTS to Saphan Taksin station, then walking to the pier to buy a ticket for the Chao Phraya Express Boat (the staff were very helpful). You can buy a pass for about 150 baht that allows unlimited boarding and disembarking, but in the end, I only got off at Tha Chang Pier, which was already worth it!

Along the way, I met new friends and even watched a traditional Khon performance. It was a wonderful new experience. For anyone wanting to try a solo trip but not sure where to start, taking the Chao Phraya Express Boat is a must-try option 🚤✨

Recommended spot: Tha Chang Pier (watch Khon, take photos of Rama VIII Bridge)
