Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Penang

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Penang is the oldest Hindu temple in Penang, established in 1833. It is a sacred site and a significant cultural attraction located in the Little India area near Lebuh Queen. Visitors can admire the beautiful architecture and sculptures of various deities, especially those above the entrance arch. To enter the temple, visitors must remove their shoes and hats, and photography inside the temple is strictly prohibited.

The temple is intricately decorated with carvings of Hindu gods and goddesses. Inside, the statue of Lord Subramaniam is enshrined, adorned with precious gems such as diamonds and emeralds.

Photography and videography are not allowed within the temple. As a religious site, visitors are expected to show respect, maintain silence, and avoid causing disturbances.
