Wat Phra Kaew, or Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram, is an important royal temple used in various royal ceremonies. It was built alongside the establishment of the Rattanakosin Kingdom in 1782 during the reign of King Rama I. It is located within the Grand Palace, just like Wat Phra Si Sanphet, which was a royal temple in the Ayutthaya period.
