✨Waking up to the shimmering C

Although we've been to Thailand numerous times, we recently chose Bangkok again, eager to experience the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok for the first time. Unlike the city's newer hotels, this esteemed establishment is Thailand’s oldest, boasting nearly 150 years of history, much like The Peninsula in Hong Kong. It gracefully resides along the Chao Phraya River and is known for housing Thailand’s first elevator and maintaining a charming European-styled Authors’ Wing. Despite its central city location, the hotel offers a vast space that extends across the river, accessible by their classic private boats. This visit, we decided on the State Room, which is the largest non-suite option at the hotel. Located at the floor's corner, our room offered a stunning 270-degree panoramic view of the Chao Phraya River and Bangkok’s skyline, best enjoyed from the private balcony. The room enveloped us in traditional Thai ambiance with elements like teakwood, silk, and vintage decor. The hotel excels in hospitality. From the start of our stay, the manager presented us with orchid bracelets, reflecting the Land of Smile's symbol. While it's not near the railway, private boats conveniently connect guests to city attractions. The airport transfer service features a limousine equipped with massage chairs and TVs, ensuring a luxurious journey.
