Visit Wat Sutthawat in Thonburi

🏘 Wat Sutthawat was built around 1830 during the reign of King Rama IV by a soldier named Sut, who encouraged his relatives and villagers to help construct it. Initially named Wat Mai Ta Sut, it was later renamed Wat Sutthawat. The temple was granted the Wisungkhama Sima (a boundary for ordination) in 1998.

🏡 The temple underwent restoration and development starting in 1969 after being in a state of disrepair for a long time.

Key attractions and significant features within the temple include:

🏠 The Ubosot (ordination hall): A two-story Thai-style structure with a cruciform design. The upper floor serves as a venue for religious ceremonies, similar to other ordination halls.

🛕 The Busabok: A pavilion housing statues of former abbots.

🏚 Sala Chao Chuk Thong: A pavilion.

🛕 The Bell Tower.

🏡 Wat Sutthawat Address: 413 Ratchadaphisek Road, Bukkhalo Subdistrict, Thonburi District, Bangkok.
