Taijihu Village, also known as Hucun, is located about 17 kilometers northeast of Jixi County. It is located at the southern Yin and Yang poles, embracing each other. It has a unique natural environment. The Yuanxi River flows in an "S" shape around the south of the village. The villages in the west and the fields in the east form a natural " Taiji " landform wonder. There are also three excellent water outlets in Huizhou : " lions and elephants guarding the gate, sun and moon as the pass, and turtles and snakes blocking the water ."
This is an ancient village with a history of more than 800 years. It has many ancient bridges, ancient pavilions, ancient houses, ancient ancestral halls, ancient temples, thousand-year-old trees, Ming Dynasty Yinquan Street, large brick-carved gatehouses, etc., built against the mountain and stretching out in a winding manner, like a three-dimensional landscape painting.
It also preserves the former residences of many celebrities (Zhang Xianghua, the founder of the Anhui cuisine restaurant industry, writer Zhang Yiping, etc.), the unique swing pavilion, and the unique Medicine King Stone. It is a living fossil of Huizhou's ancient architecture and culture.
