Suriyah Coffee

If you're near Talat Phlu or in the surrounding area and looking for a nostalgic breakfast or traditional coffee like in the old days, you should visit Suriyah Coffee.

This vintage coffee shop ☕️ has been around for 107 years and is located in the morning market at Wat Klang. The atmosphere takes you back to childhood memories of eating in the market, with a riverside view of the Big Buddha along Bangkok Yai Canal. The shop is decorated in a vintage style and serves traditional coffee shop fare, including coffee, O-liang (Thai iced coffee), tea, deep-fried dough sticks, soft-boiled eggs, kaya (coconut jam), buttered bread, Vietnamese bread, and both hot and cold beverages 🍞☕️. While there aren't many savory dishes on the menu, you can order food from nearby vendors to enjoy alongside your drinks. Prices are affordable, with two soft-boiled eggs costing just 30 baht. You can choose to sit inside the shop or enjoy the view at the back by the canal. The rear of the shop also offers a great photo spot with the Big Buddha at Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen in the background (though you might need to zoom in).

The shop is located in the market at Wat Klang. Parking is available at Wat Intharam, and you can walk along Bangkok Yai Canal towards the market for about 150 meters. On Sunday mornings between 9:00-10:00 AM, the shop tends to be crowded, so you might have to wait for a table.
