Wat Thong Noppakhun

Wat Thong Noppakhun, originally built during the late Ayutthaya period, was renovated during the reign of King Rama III in the royal style, which blends Thai and Chinese art. Later, during the reign of King Rama IV, the temple's ordination hall was restored to traditional Thai style. The temple has received the Outstanding Conservation Building Award from the Association of Siamese Architects.

Although the ordination hall was renovated in traditional Thai style, its architecture and murals remain unique compared to other temples. The door frames are shaped like traditional Thai crowns (chada), while the window frames resemble ceremonial fans used by monks. Inside the ordination hall, the mural in front of the principal Buddha image depicts the Tripitaka scriptures, while the mural behind the Buddha portrays an incredibly realistic curtain. It is said that when King Rama IV visited the temple to present the royal Kathin robes, he remarked, "Who brought the palace curtains to hang here?".
