From a small shop in Fukuoka to a refined experience in the heart of the city. 🏮
Kamakiri Udon began as a small udon shop in Fukuoka, run by a chef passionate about the art of udon noodles. Each noodle is kneaded and cut by hand before being boiled in water at the perfect temperature, resulting in a chewy texture and a rich, fragrant dashi aroma. The name "Kamakiri" means "praying mantis," symbolizing meticulousness and precision. This reflects the restaurant's attention to detail, making it one of the few udon restaurants to be featured in the Michelin Guide Fukuoka.

Authentic Japanese atmosphere, meticulous in every detail. 🪑
The interior is decorated with natural wood. A long counter bar allows customers to watch the chefs prepare noodles. The sound of boiling water and the aroma of warm soup make you feel like you've escaped to a small Japanese alley. The warm lighting and limited seating make it perfect for taking your time with the bowl of udon in front of you.

Menu I tried with Phichit 🍱
🧀 Cheese Blancmange on Black Honey – A sweet dessert served with dark honey, with a subtle sweetness and a light saltiness, making for a memorable end to the meal.
🍳 Mentai Tororo Egg BK – Udon topped with mentai fish eggs, tororo, and fresh eggs. The delicate flavor of Japanese mashed potatoes complements the chewy noodles. A must-order item:
🍤 Shrimp Kakiage Udon – Hot udon noodles with crispy fried kakiage shrimp. A harmonious combination of thick and crispy noodles.
🌽 Corn Fritters with Curry Powder On Top – Fragrant curry powder coated in crispy corn fritters. This is a fun spot that perfectly blends Japanese and Thai cuisine.

🪧: Open daily from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM / 5:00 PM to midnight
🗺️: Live Work Asia Building, Sukhumvit Soi 26, Bangkok
🚕: BTS Phrom Phong / Taxi / Car
.
One more thing: I recommend sitting at the bar. It's a great dining experience. You might have to wait a bit at certain times, and although there are tables for 4-6 people, I still recommend sitting at the bar. Oh, and the drinks here look delicious!✨
