🙏🙏🙏 Wat Arun Ratchawararam or as we call it, Wat Chaeng is an ancient temple that has been around since the Ayutthaya period. It was originally called Wat Makok Nok and is one of the most important temples in Bangkok. During the reign of King Taksin the Great, the capital was moved from Ayutthaya to Thonburi and he ordered Wat Chaeng to be a temple within the royal palace. At that time, it was also the place where the Emerald Buddha, which was brought from Vientiane, was enshrined.
