Lingbao Gorge is located in Shiyaoli Village, Xiangquan Town, Xishan Area, Chencang District, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. The formation of the gorge is due to the long-term erosion and cutting of the gravel rock layer by the river, forming steep peaks. The cliffs on both sides of the gorge are covered with honeycomb-shaped holes of various sizes eroded by wind and rain, which have extremely high ornamental value.

Xiaoshui River flows through the middle of the canyon. The riverbed is flat and beautiful, while the valley walls on both sides are upright and even tilted inward, making it extremely steep. The Danxia landform has distinct features, with magnificent mountain and rock walls, winding rivers, and canyons rising upright from the riverbed.

The Lingbao Gorge is made of red terrestrial sedimentary sandstone, shaped like a giant wall of Tianmen Gate, towering into the sky, and swallowing up the sun and the moon. It is very majestic and rare in Shaanxi.

Legend has it that Lingbao Gorge is where Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, met Empress Zhangsun and lived.
