Explore the tropical rainforest at a luxury hotel in Baoting, central Hainan.

We encountered a typhoon in Hainan, so we decided to head inland and discovered a hidden gem. If the weather is bad at the beach or you want to explore Hainan from a different perspective, you can head to central Hainan and experience the luxury of the tropical rainforest.

As the best hotel in Baoting, the Shenyu Island Jade Hotel is located in the Shenyu Island Scenic Area, with exclusive access to the tropical rainforest and natural oxygen bar. It features mountain lakes, thousand-year-old lychee trees, forest valleys, the "living fossil" of plants, the tree fern forest, and the "giant panda of the water," the peach blossom jellyfish, all of which fit the hotel's wellness theme.

It took me about an hour to drive from Sanya, and the highway was very convenient. The hotel parking lot also has charging stations, which is very convenient.

The hotel's overall design style is primitive + wellness. The thatched roof buildings have a Bali feel. The hotel's infinity pool is stunning! It overlooks the vast expanse of the original tropical rainforest and lakes, giving you a sense of being wrapped in the wilderness.

I stayed in the Cloud Top Suite, which is 110 square meters. The leather shoe bench at the entrance is very high-end, and the combination of wood and white has an Edition feel. The living room and small desk are on the left and right. The bedroom is further in, with a large balcony and tatami on either side. The balcony overlooks the Shenyu Lake, and the tatami is perfect for tea, incense, and daydreaming.

The amenities are small bottles of Le Labo, the hairdryer is Dyson, and the bathroom is fully equipped with a bidet and Hansgrohe, showing the hotel's attention to detail. The tea bags are from the hotel's own Wuzhishan old tree tea series, and the capsule coffee and minibar soft drinks and snacks are all free.

The hotel has one Western restaurant and one Chinese restaurant. The Chinese restaurant mainly serves seafood and local flavors. I highly recommend the local dragon's beard vegetable, which is very refreshing, and the typhoon shelter fried shrimp is also very good. The Western restaurant mainly serves breakfast, which is really worth a big thumbs up! In addition to local specialties such as Baoluo noodles, there is also a special health food series with careful labeling. There are also a few dishes, such as curry chicken, that are usually only available at lunch, and with breakfast served until 10:30, you can have brunch.

In addition to the pool and gym, the hotel also offers a variety of activities. You can make lacquer fans, practice calligraphy, and watch movies at the Shenyu Academy, or explore the boardwalk and tree fern forest in the scenic area. You won't get bored even if you stay at the hotel for two or three days.
