Wonderland Waterfall + Tea Mountain One-Day Tour

Who can resist soaking in hot springs in a tropical rainforest at 18°N latitude? Baoting is simply my favorite off-the-beaten-path travel destination, a perfect combination of Li and Miao ethnic customs + natural oxygen bar + healing hot springs. Few people and beautiful scenery make it truly delightful~

🌴Must-visit recommendations
📍Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Area
I suggest getting up early to be the first to rush in! The tropical rainforest has a very high vegetation coverage, and you can see a group of waterfalls while walking on the suspended plank road. Remember to try the waterfall stepping and water play activity, wearing creek shoes is more convenient (the scenic area also rents them).

📍Betel Nut Valley Li and Miao Cultural Tourism Area
Immerse yourself in the Li ethnic brocade weaving and rattan weaving crafts, the grandmas’ handicrafts are exquisite. There is a bamboo pole dance performance at fixed times every day, don’t miss the interactive part~

📍Qixianling Hot Spring National Forest Park
The wild creek hot springs halfway up the mountain are legendary! Soaking in 40°C hot springs while watching the sea of clouds roll by, the seven peaks outline on the mountaintop is super magical (recommended to go in the evening to avoid the midday sun).

📍Shenyu Island Cultural Tourism Area
The stilted buildings by the lake on the tea mountain are amazing! You can take a bamboo raft to tour the lake, and the island’s book-themed guesthouses are perfect for daydreaming. Remember to try their Li family Shanlan liquor.

🍲Baoting Exclusive Taste Memories
▪️Li Family Biji Meal: There are many farmhouses in Nanmao Village, the combination of three-color rice + five-legged pork + thunder root soup is absolutely delicious.
▪️Hot Spring Eggs: Sold by an old lady at the entrance of Qixianling Scenic Area, the soft-boiled eggs with secret dipping sauce are something I can brag about three times.
▪️Tropical Fruits: Rambutan freshly picked at the market is ten times sweeter than in supermarkets! Remember to bargain.

💡Practical Tips
1. It is recommended to rent a car and drive yourself; although the attractions are not far apart, there is no direct bus.
2. Both Yanoda and Betel Nut Valley offer free ethnic costumes for wearing and taking photos.
3. Remember to bring a waterproof phone bag in the hot spring area; the volcanic rock area in Qixianling can stain light-colored swimsuits.
4. May to October is the rainy season, carrying an umbrella for sun and rain is the safest choice.
