The Sagrada Familia was awe-inspiring from the outside alone. But the real excitement began the moment we stepped inside. The moment we stepped inside, the sight before us was literally overwhelming.

The first thing that caught my eye were the columns, reaching straight up into the sky. Gaudi designed these columns not just as simple architectural elements, but like trees in a forest. The columns branched out like branches as they ascended, supporting the ceiling, and the light streaming through them resembled sunlight filtering through the forest. The atmosphere inside the cathedral was not just solemn, but mysterious, as if we were standing in nature.

The stained glass windows were another highlight. One wall was bathed in warm oranges, reds, and yellows, resembling the setting sun, while the other, a blend of blues and greens, evoked the feeling of an early morning sea. As the light shifted with the time, the cathedral's interior transformed into ever-changing colors. Just standing in that light was both reverent and enchanting. 🪉

The ceiling was adorned with intricate yet orderly star shapes and geometric patterns. Looking up, the seemingly endless expanse of space gave the illusion that the cathedral was touching the sky!

Biblical stories and symbols were engraved throughout the interior, but even without understanding them all, the overall message conveyed by the space was clear. The harmony of nature and faith, light and art—the worldview Gaudí dedicated his life to expressing—was woven throughout the cathedral.

The interior of the Sagrada Familia felt more than just the inside of a cathedral; it felt like another universe. The moment I experienced this place firsthand during my trip to Barcelona was an unforgettable experience. 🫠
