on top of montjuïc hill, this old coastal fortress and former prison now works as a city museum with open ramparts and exhibitions about barcelona’s history. views over the port, city, and mountains are honestly stunning (＾▽＾)ﾉ

how to get there (｡•‿•)っ
• on foot: you can hike up through the park, but it’s steep.
• metro paral·lel (l2/l3) → montjuïc funicular: the funicular is part of the normal tmb network, you pay with the same ticket as metro/bus
• at the top station you enter the montjuïc cable car. ticket is separate, you can buy it online on hola barcelona with a small discount or at the ticket office.

• castle hours: mar–oct 10:00–20:00, nov–feb 10:00–18:00. closed 25 dec & 1 jan.
• free entry: every sunday after 15:00 and all day on the first sunday of each month; extra free days on some city festivals. under-16s enter free.
• cable car: usually 10:00–18:00 in winter and longer in spring/summer; check exact season times before you go.
