Batu Caves, Malaysia

Located some distance north of Kuala Lumpur’s city centre is the popular tourist attraction of Batu Caves. While far, it is conveniently accessible by the KTM Komuter train that arrives at its doorstep, a comfortable 40-50 min train ride away from KL Sentral.
Batu Caves is home to several Hindu shrines and is a place of worship, so do remember to dress appropriately with long pants and shirts with sleeves that cover your shoulders. A tall flight of 272 steps lead up to the caves, but the climb did not feel too exhausting as most people would stop occasionally for pictures with those colourfully painted stairs. Beware of free roaming monkeys that may try to grab your food or loose belongings!
Apart from the main Temple Cave that is free to enter, there are also other caves in the area such as the Art Gallery Cave, Ramayana Cave and Dark Cave. You could easily spend half a day here exploring them all!
