Weizhou Island|I found a home on the island

On this Beihai trip, I stayed at more than a dozen hotels and guesthouses🏨, but the one that made me feel truly at home was Shijian Guesthouse, the very first one.

▫️ Service Details

From deciding to stay at Shijian that night to calling the owner’s sister, it only took 10 minutes for her to come pick us up. When she arrived downstairs at the hotel where we stayed the night before, she immediately started helping us load our luggage into the car.
Once in the car, we began chatting like old friends who hadn’t seen each other in a long time, with no sense of awkwardness or distance. We talked about Weizhou Island, life, food, entertainment, and attitudes toward life…
From the conversation, I also learned that the owner’s sister originally came to Weizhou Island with her husband for a trip. They had traveled to many places before but still preferred this island, so they chose to settle here and opened this guesthouse. That’s why Shijian has warmth💕!
For me, travel now is not just about rest and relaxation but also about immersing myself in the local life, sitting down to chat and hear interesting stories. So I really love this feeling and state of conversation.
If it weren’t for the tight schedule🕑 on this Weizhou Island trip, I would definitely take a longer vacation next time to make up for it🤣

The owner’s sister really knows how to enjoy Weizhou Island better than the locals😂. The written guide she gave us is like a textbook📖, covering food, drinks, and entertainment in great detail.
⭐️ She even recommends different travel routes based on different groups of people, super professional👍. For example, seeing that we like less crowded, beautiful spots perfect for photos, she recommended we visit Shell Beach and the Island Bookstore…
-
For those craving seafood, you can ask the owner’s sister to arrange purchases from local trusted vendors or go together to the seafood🦞 market. The guesthouse can cook the seafood directly, with the owner’s sister personally handling the cooking🧑‍🍳.

▫️ Guesthouse Decoration
Moroccan-style decor brings an exotic vibe to your stay on Weizhou Island.
-
We stayed in a ground-floor cave bath🛁 king room that night, and it felt quite special as soon as we opened the door. The room features Moroccan-style arches and richly textured walls, especially the cave-shaped bathtub, which was really fun to soak in.
Other rooms also have their own Moroccan charm, all worth staying in.

The common area is huge, with a pool as standard, and there’s even a swing hanging from a tree. The guesthouse has two cats and two adorable dogs, Yuanbao and Fubao, all very well-behaved and happy to be petted❗️ Occasionally, their dog friends🐶 come to visit, making it even livelier. It’s truly a paradise for pet lovers—you could spend the whole day here without leaving.
