The Pandaling Great Wall is the longest representative of the Great Wall of China and the epitome of the Ming Great Wall. The Pandaling Great Wall is located in the Yanjing District of Beijing, 60km from downtown Beijing, and is already at the highest point of the Liaodong Road connecting Beijing to the west.

The highest bastion (North 8th Tower) is 888m above sea level, and because of its rugged terrain, it is an important fortress for defending the territory and the north of the city, and is called the lock of the north gate. It has been receiving tourists from China and abroad since 1953, and the current open area is 3741m.

In 1961, Badaling Great Wall was the first national key cultural relic protection unit. In 1982, the State Council designated it as a "national key scenic spot".
