Qujing, Colorful Sand Forest

Colorful Sand Forest in Qujing is located in Majie Town, Luliang County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
The Colorful Sand Forest was formed 340 million years ago, when the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau was still a vast ocean. Due to the influence of the Himalayan tectonic movement, the sea level dropped, and the beach rose, forming a huge beach dominated by colorful sand and stones. After being exposed to sunlight, washed and eroded by wind and rain, it eventually formed today's rare natural wonder in the world.
