Suggested Itineraries
Spring/Summer Flower Viewing Route: Enter through Gate 9 of the Chaoyang Demonstration Area West Park. Walk for about 10 minutes to reach Yunshang Terraces and admire the vast fields of rapeseed flowers. Then, head to Sunshine Beach to enjoy the sun and sand, and have a picnic nearby. Afterwards, stroll to Yu Lake, where the water is clear, surrounded by lush trees, and the scenery is pleasant, perfect for taking photos.
Autumn Reed Viewing Route: Enter through Gate 6 of the West Park. First, locate Niaowu, an ecological birdwatching tower shaped like a bird's nest, located in the center of the reed marsh. Here, you can capture the reflections of the reeds and boardwalk on the water's surface. Then, head to Yanming Island, where the southern side is covered with lush reeds. Taking photos of the circular viewing platform on the opposite bank through the reeds is highly recommended. Next, visit Fengming Terrace, where the unique reed varieties have neat and delicate flower spikes, making it an ideal spot for sunset viewing. Finally, go to the Iris Garden, where there are large reed clusters by the lake, with dense and delicate reed flowers. The winding stone bridge, combined with the reeds, is perfect for portrait photography.
Winter Ice and Snow Route: Head to the snowfield on the east lawn of the Chaoyang Demonstration Area West Park to experience snow slopes, snow tanks, and snow excavators. You can also go to the ice rink at Qin Lake in the West Park to enjoy ice carts, cartoon ice carts, and ice bikes.
