A thousand-year-old secret place hidden in the capital - Baipu Temple, a Zen journey through time and space
Stepping into the green mountains of Mentougou, Beijing, a thousand-year-old temple engraved by time stands quietly. Baipu Temple is like a silent poet monk, writing a dialogue between time and faith with its mottled stone steps, flying glazed eaves and winding vines.
[Thousands of years of ancient rhyme, the Zen meaning of frozen time]🌹🌹🌹
The Ming Dynasty murals in the temple are glowing, the Tang Dynasty stone carvings contain unfaded scriptures, and every brick and tile seems to be soaked in Buddhist sounds. Climbing up to the Guanyin Pavilion and overlooking the misty mountains, it feels like you are in the Dunhuang Flying Fairies painting scroll. At the corner, a ginkgo tree that is as old as the temple is whispering the sound of 1,200 years of morning and evening bells with its golden fallen leaves.
【The beauty of symbiosis between nature and humanity】❤️❤️❤️
The name of the temple "White Waterfall" comes from the silver-thread waterfall cascading down the back mountain. The sound of the water is different in each season, like the strings of a musical instrument in spring and like Buddhist chanting in winter. When the mountains are covered with red leaves in autumn, the eaves and maple colors complement each other, as if an ancient Kyoto temple has traveled through time and space to the outskirts of Beijing. There are tea gardens scattered outside the temple, where you can pick a handful of fragrant tea yourself, taste tea in the Zen hall, and listen to the monks talk about the mysteries of "Zen in tea, tea in Zen".
【Escape from the hustle and bustle and find a spiritual home】❤️❤️❤️
There is no noisy incense here, only the rustling sound of monks sweeping leaves in the morning light and the sound of wind chimes and prayer flags in the twilight. It is suitable for sitting in meditation, photographing the architectural aesthetics of light and shadow, or just walking barefoot on the cool stone steps and letting the mountain breeze wash away the restlessness of the city.
[Useful Information] [RoundNails][RoundNails][RoundNails]
• Only 1.5 hours’ drive from downtown Beijing, accessible by car or public transportation
• The temple provides vegetarian food experience and you can participate in the sutra copying activity by appointment
• Autumn and winter are the best time to visit, avoid holidays for a more peaceful and quiet environment
At Baipu Temple, time is no longer a scale, but the growth of moss on the eaves and the cycle of waterfalls washing over rocks. Take a day off from your busy life and come here to sit opposite the thousand-year-old temple. Perhaps, you will hear the clearest echo of your heart.
