A temple filled with the fragrance of flowers, Beijing Fayuan Temple (free attraction)

👉Fayuan Temple, also known as Minzhong Temple, is located at No. 7 Fayuan Temple Front Street, Xicheng District, Beijing. It was first built in the 19th year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty (645) and rebuilt in the 11th year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty (1733). It is one of the oldest famous temples in Beijing.

👍Fayuan Temple covers an area of ​​6,700 square meters. It has a large-scale building with a rigorous structure. It adopts a central axis symmetrical pattern. It faces south as a whole and is divided into three roads: central, east and west. The middle road is where the main buildings are located. From south to north, there are the one-character screen wall, the mountain gate, the bell and drum tower, the Heavenly King Hall, the Main Hall, the Guanyin Hall, the Vairocana Hall, the Great Compassion Hall, and the Sutra Library.

🌈Fayuan Temple is not only an ancient temple with a long history in Beijing, but also the location of the Chinese Buddhist Academy and the Chinese Buddhist Library and Cultural Relics Museum.

👍On August 21, 1979, Fayuan Temple was announced by the Beijing Municipal People's Government as the second batch of municipal cultural relics protection units in Beijing8
. In 1983, it was designated by the State Council as a key Buddhist temple in the Han area of ​​China. On June 25, 2001, Fayuan Temple was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
