Beijing Family Day Trip | A Route Both Kids and Parents Will Love

When friends visit Beijing with their kids, I recommend this super fun one-day itinerary 👇

Focus on the Beijing Garden Expo Park. Since the park is huge with many classic spots, I've designed a full-day route to avoid rushing through. Play until tired, then take a break. The overall pace is relaxed, perfect for families with elderly and children.

📍 Beijing Garden Expo Park
Directly accessible via Metro Line 14—super convenient 🚇. After entering, head to the Smart Experience Zone first, featuring AR guides and a "Seed Maze" where kids can learn while playing, fully immersed.

Next, head straight to the Regional Garden Cluster, with 69 unique exhibition gardens showcasing the charm of landscapes from across China. Take the kids to the Jiangnan-style "Memories of Jiangnan" Garden, with its white walls, black tiles, and small bridges over flowing water—it feels like stepping into a misty Jiangnan scene. There's also the Lingnan Garden, full of Lingnan charm, where the exquisite layout lets kids experience different regional cultures.

When tired, visit the Yongding Tower observation deck. Climb the tower for a panoramic view of the entire park—the scenery is amazing—and share the history of the Yongding River with the kids.

Exploring the entire park takes 3–6 hours. I recommend entering and exiting through Gate 5. Afterward, take your friends straight to📍 Beijing Zhuangyuan Jia (Fengti Branch).

Just a 16-minute drive from the Garden Expo Park. Must-order: the Turtle & Bullfrog Hot Pot 🐸. Fresh turtle and bullfrog cooked on the spot—the turtle meat is tender, the edges springy, packed with collagen; the bullfrog is plump and tender, falling off the bone. Pair it with veggies soaked in the flavorful broth. For the kids, get a "Shore Cup" milk tea—pretty and delicious, with a meaning we all love~
