Mutianyu Great Wall

Ready for an epic Beijing day trip? The Mutianyu Great Wall is where history meets jaw-dropping scenery 🏞️. This part of the Wall is way less crowded, surprisingly easy to reach, and packed with Insta-worthy views (trust me, your camera roll will thank you).

Must-See Spot: Mutianyu Great Wall
Address: Mutianyu Village, Bohai Town, Huairou District, Beijing
Opening Hours:
- Mar 16–Sep 29: 07:30–18:00 (Mon–Fri), 07:30–18:30 (Sat–Sun)
- Sep 30–Oct 7: 07:00–21:00
- Oct 8–Nov 15: 07:30–18:00 (Mon–Fri), 07:30–18:30 (Sat–Sun)
- Nov 16–Mar 15: 08:00–17:30
Admission: 45 RMB

My Top Tip: This spot is a beautiful piece of history and super well-preserved. Try to get there right when gates open for magical light and almost zero crowds — perfect for photos and taking in the epic skyline (plus, it’s cooler in the morning, trust me!).

How to Get There:
Easiest: Book a shuttle or join a day tour from downtown (tickets on trip.com). DIY: Take the 916 Express Bus from Dongzhimen to Huairou North Avenue, then grab a taxi or local shuttle to the Wall.

Destination Hacks:
- Wear comfy shoes—the stairs are no joke!
- There’s a cable car and toboggan ride for thrill seekers or anyone not feeling the climb.
- Bring snacks, sunscreen, and extra water (shops there are pricey).
- Don’t forget: last admission is typically 30-60 mins before closing!

Food tip: If you’re peckish after, check nearby Mutianyu Village snack stalls, or dinner back in Beijing city for Peking duck!
