Beijing is an absolute vibe at night—think lantern-lit alleys, cool reflections off rain-soaked streets, and ancient Chinese architecture glowing under city lights 🌃❤️. If you’re hunting for culture, food, and those Instagrammable views, this is your list.
Top Spots to Visit in Beijing:
Beijing-Libertango — Tucked in Fangjia Hutong 12, this spot blends Western cuisine with Beijing’s artsy alleyway scene. Pro tip: Hutongs are slippery after rain so wear solid shoes and don’t rush!
Jingshan Park — Central Beijing, Jingshan Qianjie, Xicheng District. Epic for sunrise or sunset, with panoramic views over the Forbidden City. Open daily (hours vary seasonally—most days until 9 PM) and entry is just 19 RMB. The elevated walkways give insane views of Beijing’s skyline, especially at dusk.
Lama Temple — No. 12 Yonghegong St., Dongcheng. A must-see for its colors and spiritual hush. Open 9AM-5PM most of the year, 45 RMB entry. Bring small change for incense offerings, and don’t skip the massive Buddha statue!
Yuanmingyuan Park — No. 28 Qinghua West Rd., Haidian. The “Old Summer Palace” mixes ruined European arches with peaceful lakes. Open till 7PM in summer, 5:30PM in winter, tickets 10 RMB. Go late afternoon for golden hour photos.
Tips & Hacks:
- Getting Around: Didi (rideshare app) is way easier than taxis, or hop the subway for cheap. Biking through hutongs is legit fun.
- Food: Try Peking duck in local eateries, or afternoon tea at Libertango’s artsy courtyard.
- Weather: Rain brings next-level beauty to night walks in historic areas—pack an umbrella and grippy shoes!
- Money: Most places take Alipay/WeChat, little cash needed but bring some for smaller parks or temple shops.
