The Tanzhe Temple Ginkgo Festival kicks off, with ancient trees blessing the arrival of autumn

The Tanzhe Temple Ginkgo Festival is not to be missed. Tanzhe Temple is an ancient temple over a thousand years old, home to two Tang Dynasty ginkgo trees, each over 1,300 years old, reaching 40 meters tall with a trunk circumference of 7 meters, making them some of the oldest ginkgo trees in Beijing. In late autumn, the fallen leaves cover the square, with red walls and Buddhist pagodas complementing the golden ginkgo, fully showcasing the autumn charm of this ancient temple. The event runs from October 25 to November 9 in the core area of the Tanzhe Temple scenic spot and other locations. Visitors can participate in ancient tree blessings to bring home a millennium of good fortune; enjoy traditional Chinese elegance and experience a visual and auditory feast that transcends a thousand years; immerse themselves in parades and join ancient scholars in poetry contests; shop for the best goods from western Beijing at the harvest market; take part in a large-scale real-scene treasure hunt game called "Dragon Seeking and Star Exploring"; and savor ginkgo-exclusive delicacies, tasting the millennium autumn charm on the palate. The site is open year-round from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Adult tickets are 50 yuan, and tickets for seniors and students are 25 yuan. It is accessible by both car and public transportation.
