Ancient Linhai Great Wall|A Must-See Effortless Travel Guide for the Lazy

Recently, with the crisp autumn weather, I took the opportunity to go with friends to climb the Jiangnan Ancient Great Wall and Taizhou City Wall in Linhai nearby 😍
✨Taizhou City Cultural Tourism Area Linhai Taizhou City Wall, known as the "Great Wall of Jiangnan," was built during the Eastern Jin Dynasty and has a history of over 1,600 years. It stretches more than 6,000 meters, winding along the ridge of Beigu Mountain, with Ling River in front and Donghu Park to the east, earning the nickname "Jiangnan Badaling" [Tiptop].

🚗 Transportation Guide:
* High-speed rail: You can take the high-speed train to Linhai Station from various places, then take a taxi for about 25-30 minutes to reach the scenic area. Bus K211 also goes directly there.
* Self-driving: Navigate to "Beigu Mountain Parking Lot" or Lansheng Gate [Grin].

💰 Ticket Information:
* Ticket: 55 RMB (recommended to buy the combined ticket with Donghu Park for 65 RMB, which is more cost-effective).
* Tip: After 6:00 PM, the section of the city wall from Chaotian Gate to Xingshan Gate in the Taizhou City Cultural Tourism Area is free to enter [Angel].

🕑 Opening Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, no entry to the paid area after 4:30 PM [Kiss].

🚶‍♀️ Classic Tour Route (about 2-3 hours) 🚶
It is recommended to start from Lansheng Gate, challenge the famous 198 steps → then pass enemy platforms 1 to 8 → climb to the highest point of the city wall, Baiyun Tower, to enjoy the panoramic view → visit Wangtian Platform → pass Yanxia Pavilion → finally descend the city wall from Xingshan Gate in the Taizhou City Cultural Tourism Area and directly enter the historic Ziyang Street district [Askance].

* 🥰😇 Effort-saving tip: If the 198 steps are too strenuous, you can also tour in reverse, ascending from Chaotian Gate and descending at Lansheng Gate. This way is easier and you won’t miss the highlights [Coke].

📸 Must-visit Photo Spots:
1. Lansheng Gate: Starting with the 198 steps, very impressive, the first stop for photos [StarEyes].
2. Enemy Platform No. 3: A classic spot to shoot the S-shaped winding city wall [Surprising].
3. Baiyun Tower: The highest point of the city wall, overlooking the riverside cityscape and Ling River scenery [CoolGuy].
4. Wangtian Platform: An ancient sacrificial platform resembling Beijing’s Temple of Heaven Park, very distinctive [Laugh].
5. Xingshan Gate in Taizhou City Cultural Tourism Area: From here, you can capture the lively atmosphere of the entire Ziyang Street [Clap].

🍡 Nearby Food and Sightseeing:
* Descending from Xingshan Gate leads to Ziyang Street, the "Ziyang Ancient Street," where you must try local seaweed cakes, wheat cakes, egg white lamb tail, and herbal paste [Like].
* If time permits, you can also visit Donghu Park, Longxing Temple, and the Jinshan Pagoda Group including Qianfo Pagoda, Great Wenfeng Pagoda, and Small Wenfeng Pagoda.

💡 Warm Tips:
1. Wearing comfortable shoes is important because walking and climbing steps are required [Joyful].
2. Use sun protection when touring on sunny days [Tiptop].
3. The city wall is not very friendly for strollers, families with babies should take note [Trick].
4. There are small shops and restrooms on the city wall for convenience [Smart].

[Askance]Come to Linhai·Taizhou, measure this thousand-year-old city wall with your footsteps, and feel the blend of history and modernity!✨
