Padrão dos Descobrimentos, the Discoverers' Monument, is a famous attraction in the Belem district of Lisbon, Portugal. It is used to commemorate the glorious achievements of Portugal in the Age of Exploration in the 15th century. It can be said to be the starting point of the Age of Exploration.
The Monument to the Discoverers is shaped like a sail setting out to sea, with huge stone statues on the left and right wings, depicting famous navigators, navigators and missionaries of the Age of Discovery. There are a total of 32 statues of lifelike figures.
Inside the monument is an exhibition room, with an entrance ticket costing €10. There are documentary screenings and a rooftop observation deck. Personally, I think it's okay. You can just take some photos outside and take some time to visit the Belem Tower and Jerónimo Monastery nearby. They are quite worth a visit.
