Matsu's Qinbi Village in Beigan Township is often referred to as the "Mediterranean of Matsu." Walking into this settlement feels like stepping back in time and being transported to a European town. Originally named "Jinggang" or "Jing'ao," Qinbi Village is a representative settlement of Matsu's Min Dong architectural style. It has preserved the traditional stone house culture and is one of the most distinctive attractions in Matsu.
Built along the hillside and facing the sea, the stone houses in Qinbi Village are primarily constructed using local yellow granite and mainland bluestone. The houses are neatly arranged and stacked layer upon layer, making them picturesque from any angle. Particularly noteworthy are the "人" (human) or "丁" (T-shaped) patterns on the stone walls, symbolizing prosperity and thriving families. These intricate details exude a strong sense of warmth and cultural richness.
After restoration, the village has transformed into a tourist hub with homestays, cafes, and unique shops. It's not only a great spot for photography but also a relaxing place to enjoy a meal or coffee at one of the local cafes.
