๐ฆข๐ Swans & Mountains: a day in Lake Como

If you're in Milan, why not spend an afternoon in Como San Giovanni ๐, a small lakeside village in Bellagio?
๐ Getting There:
We took the EuroCity (EC) train (which continues on to Zurich) from Milan Centrale to Como San Giovanni, and the whole trip took just under 40 minutes. Tickets were about โฌ30 round trip each, but we later found out there's a Trenord regional train that's around โฌ12 round trip and takes about the same duration ๐. Be sure you're on the right train (EC/Trenord) for your ticket as they're not interchangeable! Once we arrived at San Giovanni, it was a short 10-minute downhill walk to the lakefront ๐.
๐ ๐ฝ๏ธ The Pier + Dinner:
The walk to the pier passes cafรฉs, shops, and houses. We even spotted swans gliding by on the lake ๐ฆข. The whole view looked like it belonged on a postcard.
We stopped at a seafood restaurant near the lake. The food was good, but honestly, we didn't get the warmest treatment (it seemed like locals got friendlier service). Still, the view and atmosphere made up for it ๐ค๏ธ . Prices were a bit high at the lakefront places ๐ธ, so it's worth investigating restaurants and checking out menus before sitting down, especially as they're mostly within walkable distance. Everything there is so walkable! Within 10-15 minutes, we went from the station to the lake, over the bridge, and back through town - just wandering around, and it felt like the perfect mini break from the rush of Milan ๐ฟ.
