Takushinkan Photo Gallery – This gallery was opened in 1987 in Biei, Hokkaido, to showcase the work of world-famous photographer Shinzo Maeda, who once took photos here. The photos taken by Shinzo Maeda have inspired people to see the beauty of Biei’s four seasons, and have made the city a destination for those who want to take beautiful photos to this day. Shinzo’s son, Akira Maeda, has also inherited his father’s love of photography and has brought his photographs to exhibit at this gallery.

📷 The gallery is located on a scenic route called Patchwork Hills. When you come here, in addition to the photos you can see, just walk around to the back and you will find a shady forest park. There is a path lined with tall birch trees on both sides, making it a popular photo spot where everyone stops to take photos.

🚗 How to get there 🚲

This place is far from the bus stop and the train station, so you have to come by car or bicycle. There is free parking.
