🇯🇵🌿 Biei/Furano 1-Day Itinerary
📍 Travel Guide: Sapporo → Biei/Furano (Rental Car or JR + Bus)
🚗 Rental Car Recommendation: Public transportation alone is inconvenient for all three destinations. A day rental is the most efficient option.
⸻
🗓 Recommended Course (1-Day)
🚗 1. Morning — Blue Pond (青い池, Aoiike)
• Biei's signature photo spot. The white birch trees reflecting in the blue water are spectacular ✨
• On clear days, the water glows a turquoise-green/cobalt blue, making for a truly memorable photo. 📷
• 👉 Tip: The water's colors are most vivid in the morning sunlight. We recommend visiting between 8 and 10 a.m.
⸻
🚗 2. Morning — Seven Star Tree
• This tree was featured in a cigarette commercial for Seven Star. Standing alone on the vast Biei hills, its scenery is breathtaking. 🌳
• There are many photo spots nearby, including the Ken and Mary Tree, making it a great place to explore together.
• 👉 Tip: Drone photography is prohibited in many areas, so a tripod and wide-angle lens are recommended.
⸻
🚗 3. Lunch — Biei City or Rolling Hill Cafe
• Biei is famous for its potatoes, corn, and wheat. Enjoy local cuisine like curry rice, omelets, and soup curry. 🍛
• 👉 Tip: Arrive before 11:30 AM to avoid long waits at popular restaurants.
⸻
🚗 4. Afternoon — Farm Tomita (Furano)
• A world-famous lavender farm. 💜 Peak blooms in June and July. • Lavender ice cream 🍦, perfume, and dried flower souvenirs are also popular.
• 👉 Tip: It's crowded in the summer, so go around 3-4 PM for a more dramatic view of the sunlight and lavender.
⸻
🚗 5. Dinner — Return to Furano or Sapporo
• If you're renting a car, have dinner in Furano City and then travel to Sapporo (approximately 2.5-3 hours).
• By JR: Furano Station → Transfer at Asahikawa Station → Transfer to Sapporo.
⸻
💡 Travel Tips
1. 🚗 A rental car is a must! → The three locations are far apart, so public transportation is difficult to connect.
2. 📷 A camera is a must, especially a wide-angle lens or drone-based alternative photography gear to capture the breathtaking scenery.
3. 👟 Comfortable shoes + hat + sunscreen: Even in summer, the sun is strong and there's a lot of walking. 4. ❄️ In winter, the frozen Blue Lake and the snow-covered Seven Star Trees are a delicacy → Each season offers a different charm!
5. ⏰ Take your time — Time flies when you're taking photos, so it's best to set aside at least an hour for each spot.
