Escape to paradise at Bintan

A short 1 hour boat ride away from Singapore lies the Indonesian island of Bintan, which serves up the same beachside relaxation vibes of Bali with less hassle and time spent travelling. This makes it a good choice for families with young children or the elderly for a weekend trip.

Situated at the northern tip of Bintan, Angsana Bintan has stretches of white sand and shallow water suitable for kids. There are also pool floats at the hotel pool and at night there is a beachside BBQ where you can feast under the stars with the sea breeze blowing. There aren't really other restaurants around as the location of the resort is a little far removed from town or other resorts, so unless you sign up for a day tour visiting other parts of Bintan, your best bet would be to dine at the resort, which is decent but a little pricey.
