Oh, I do love to be beside the seaside!

Blackpool is the quintessential English seaside town! In the Victorian times, during the 1800’s, people from all over the United Kingdom came to Blackpool to vacation and holiday.

What drew people to this town? The beach, for a start. Blackpool also constructed a tower that became a tourist attraction in its own right, with a ballroom located on the ground floor of the tower.

Fast forward to present day, Blackpool has lost some of its former glory. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t make a good day out!

If you head to the pier, you can take in the views of the town and surrounding beach areas. There’s plenty of food and drink choices around here too, so you’ll be spoilt for choice!

As Blackpool was the home of many comedy greats, humour and comedy is still part of the fabric of the area. Check out The Comedy Carpet, a collection of jokes and one-liners told by many of Blackpool’s famous sons and other comedians of their generation!

Of course, if you head here in the autumn, you’ll be able to see the world famous Blackpool illuminations. Lit up across the mile long promenade, it’s the world’s largest free light festival - and it’s something that needs to be seen and visited!
