Nature in the City — Roma Street Parkland

Right in the middle of Brisbane is a green escape: Roma Street Parkland. I spent the afternoon wandering its lush trails, where native plants grow alongside water features and hidden picnic spots.
What surprised me most was how quiet it felt, even though the Central Station is just minutes away. The air smelled like eucalyptus, and butterflies darted between flower beds.
Nearby, I grabbed a bite at a small Thai restaurant just off Wickham Terrace, where the staff recommended the crispy basil chicken — delicious.
It’s places like this that make Brisbane so livable. Nature, city, and culture all stitched into one.
