Budapest's Crown Jewel: Fisherman's Bastion & Matthias Church! 🇭🇺

#summervacay
Welcome to Budapest, often called the "Pearl of the Danube" and "Little Paris"! ✨ It's so easy to navigate this incredible city. The Danube River flows north to south, so Buda is always to your west, and Pest to your east.

First stop, Fisherman's Bastion! This stunning, two-story white architectural marvel blends Neo-Gothic, Neo-Romanesque, and traditional Hungarian styles. It faces the Danube and the Parliament Building, sharing its fame as one of Hungary's most impressive architectural complexes. And the views? Absolutely breathtaking! You get panoramic vistas of all Budapest from here.

Pro Tip: There's a €4 fee to walk a very short section of the ramparts, but honestly, it's not worth it. You get the same amazing views from the free areas!

Getting there is easy: Bus 216 stops right at Fisherman's Bastion's entrance.

Right next door is the magnificent Matthias Church! Dating back to 1015, this Gothic masterpiece was once Buda's second-largest church. It's famous for being the coronation site of Empress Sisi herself! (Entry is 1400 HUF).
