Bukhara: A fascinating ancient city with a long history

Bukhara was once the capital of the Bukhara Khanate.

The bazaar was a bustling city that was a must-see for shoppers. In particular, the various embroidered suzani are wonderful works of art that are filled with the aesthetic sense and skill of the local people.

Cushion covers were available for around USD10 (as of 2023), so if you go, be sure to look for a nice suzani as a souvenir!

[Transportation] ☀︎It is about 2 hours by high-speed train from Samarkand. I bought the train ticket directly online from the company that operates the Uzbekistan Railway 🎫

☀︎Taxis are not allowed in the old town of Bukhara, so I often took vehicles like tuk-tuks 🛵

[Hotel] I stayed at Mercure Bukhara Old Town. The food at the restaurant here and the service of the staff were amazing!
