Guanyutai or translated as The Fish Pavilion in English is an observatory tower perched atop a mountain within the Kanas National Park in Xinjiang. Folktales said that this is the best place to catch the glimpse of Kanas Lake Monster.
Access within the park is controlled, and there's official sight seeing buses that will drive visitors to as near as possible to Guanyutai. Upon arriving there, we still need to do some climbing to get the best view of Kanas landscape. Climbing the 1068 steps to Guanyutai was both a challenge and a reward. The steps are very well-maintained. You can stop and admire the scenery along way while catching up with your breath and stamina. As we reached the top, the anticipation grew, and reaching the observatory tower felt like a true accomplishment✌️. The view was simply stunning. The shimmering turquoise waters of Kanas Lake spread out below, framed by mountains and dense forests. Looking further, the charming village nestled along the lake's edge added serene touch to the overall landscape. The climb was worth every step for the incredible vistas, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and peaceful tranquility.
This is a must-go in your travel checklist to Kanas Xinjiang.
