When visiting Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, you absolutely cannot miss the magnificent Great Mosque of Bursa (Ulu Cami). Built in the late 14th century, it is considered one of Turkey's grandest mosques. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by a vast prayer hall, its 20 domes supported by massive stone columns, exuding a solemn atmosphere.
Most striking are the over 190 exquisite works of Arabic calligraphy adorning the walls of the mosque. The art of calligraphy blends seamlessly with the architecture, showcasing the spiritual beauty of Islamic culture. The central pool is also a unique design, symbolizing purity and spiritual peace.
I particularly enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere here. Despite the crowds, one can still sense the depth of faith. The Great Mosque of Bursa is not only a religious center, but also a treasure trove of history and art, a place worth savoring. ✨
