72 hours in Busan, a seaside metropolis 🏝️

Busan is South Korea’s second biggest city and a nice change of pace from the bustling capital, Seoul. Just 2.5 hours away on the high speed train it offers a great combination of city life and beach side relaxation. The HSR journey costs about $80 return and there’s enough to keep you busy for 2/3 days, we did it to break up our 10 days in Seoul and it was totally worth it!

The city has lots of shopping centers and department stores and also little streets of independant clothes shops, it is also not as busy as Seoul so I found it much easier to shop here!

There are lots of food streets with the usual mix of Korean BBQ, fried chicken and hotpot - there are less chains than in Seoul so lots more chances for authentic Korean food.

We spent a day exploring the shops and department stores then took a day at the infamous Haeundae beach then went for a late brunch before getting the train back to Seoul. It was so nice to take a break from Seoul and see a more relaxed side of daily life here in Korea, I’d really recommend trying it out!
