I visited the Busan Modern History Museum. I have always been interested in Busan’s history, and this opportunity to learn more about it was a very meaningful time.
The museum was remodeled from the old Busan City Hall building, so even the exterior retains the charm of modern times. The people who guided me from the entrance were friendly, and the interior was neatly organized, making it easy to see.
The exhibition hall was well-organized with various materials, photos, and videos about the changes Busan went through from the Japanese colonial period to the liberation and up to the present. In particular, the exhibition on Busan during the Korean War and the period of refuge was impressive. You could see the actual items used at the time, so the history was vividly conveyed.
There are also experiential exhibitions that are good for children, so I would like to recommend it to families. Also, you can tour Gwangbok-dong Street around the museum, so it was good enough as a one-day course.
I definitely recommend visiting if you are interested in history! It was a valuable time to understand Busan more deeply.
